Today for our series “Getting to know you…” we interview Lars Rolfsted Mortensen, an architect and photographer based in Copenhagen, Denmark. He is the author of In Search Of Habitat.
Pocket Essays is a new series from The Velvet Cell. Each book is framed by a particular theme that relates to photography. The series is edited by Kyler Zeleny, author of Out West, which was published by The Velvet Cell in 2014.

Mountains and Waters by Alexander Gronsky was released in September 2016. It might be a surprise to know that I’ve actually been working on it since early 2014. Thus the release demonstrates a culmination of almost 2 years work...
Next week I will be participating at the Tokyo Art Book Fair here in Japan. This will be The Velvet Cell’s 3rd time to participate. I previously attended it in 2013 and 2014.

When possible I always want to be on press when we are printing new books. Making books is a long process, with a lot of things that can go wrong.

I'm delighted to release our final book of 2015 - In Search of Habitat by Lars Rolfsted Mortensen. Lars came to me with this project back in May 2015 and I loved it instantly. It's exactly the kind of project I created The Velvet Cell to provide a platform for.
